Tata is the only girl who participates in the tests that will decide who will be trained to be the new tribe leader. The tests are all focused on strength and use of weapons and tools. Tata already has a disadvantage to start with. She decides to go into the jungle instead, until a thunderstorm makes her find shelter in a cave. There, she meets her ancestors, who tell her about the history of the tribe and her family. They give her a special artefact: a golden statue of a jaguar. This artefact, and her experience in the cave, will bring great changes to her life and that of the tribe.
Partly based on the legend of El Dorado.
